San Diego Scripps Seaside Forum Wedding | Katie + Keith

May 09, 2017

Katie and Keith really know how to party.  I loved every moment of their San Diego oceanside wedding and how they let their laid back California style guide them through the day.  Their planner, Christy of To La Lune, designed their ceremony and reception with lots of bold colors inspired by the California sunset, incorporated fun + unexpected materials (acrylic placemats! disco ball escort cards!), and tons of dreamy florals from Catalina Neal.  K + K’s ceremony was definitely one of my favorites last year, especially when Keith was a champ and powered through his tear-soaked vows.  Not to be outdone, the sky put on an epic show at dinner (all of the colors!), and since I was lucky enough to work with Shark Pig and The Flashdance we braced ourselves for an amazing night of dancing.  I love it when guests unleash their weirdest, most hilarious selves on the dance floor.  Many thanks to 100 Layer Cake for featuring it on their blog as well!

Montreal Fonderie Darling Wedding | Peggy + Miles

April 26, 2017

Peggy + Miles are New Yorkers who have made Montreal their second home and wanted to host their wedding reception there so that friends and family could fall in love with the city, too.  Never one to pass up an opportunity to eat all of the things (a must do in Montreal), I was eager to jump at the chance to revisit this French Brooklyn again (is it OK if I call it that?) and document their minimal, cool, food-centric reception.  I was lucky to have creative pals Wade + Phil along for the weekend while P + M partied into the wee hours of the night. Normally an art gallery, Peggy’s vision of filling Fonderie Darling with plants came to life after a full day install with the help of Vanessa from Héra Mariages. Peggy also wore one of my all-time favorite dresses, a custom piece by Carol Hannah — such a dramatic piece that looked amazing when she walked the streets of Montreal.  You can read more about their wedding and watch their video over on Green Wedding Shoes!
