People often ask me: what’s your favorite part of the wedding day? The truth is I love it all. The quiet moments while getting ready, the drama of the dress, the first look, the time set aside for creative portraiture, the emotional moments with friends and family, the (often hilarious) stories told during the toasts, the ambiance of a nice dinner, and, of course, the dance party. Documenting the STORY of the day is what I thrive on. When I was working on putting this post together of my favorite photos taken in 2016, I wanted it to encompass the story of all the collective weddings I photographed throughout the year. Looking back at all the moments and wonderful people I worked with has me brimming with emotion and artistic pride. And I owe a lot of this creativity to my amazing clients who provided endless inspiration. I love the diversity of these weddings and how everyone planned their day to be true to their personalities. Everything is different and yet so many things are alike. I hope that sentiment comes through in the edit of these photos.
A sincere thank you to everyone who invited me to document their love story all over the world: from Los Angeles to San Francisco, Palm Springs, Montana, Idaho, Montreal, New York, Mallorca, and beyond. Whether your wedding was in a backyard, in the heart of a city, nestled in the mountains, on the beach, or in a historic village, it was a joy and a privilege getting to explore with you. I hope you had as much fun as I did.
